PR doesn’t make sence any more

Last PR update, so called BigDaddy which took a place at Feb18 2006, made no sence with search engine page results. As one of my customers website, which selling� Gift Baskets� got pr6, the website has many backlinks, and quality content and too many internal pages, despite it’s pr and other factors I mentioned above, the website is not on top of google with it’s favorite keyphrases. I don’t ignore the fact that the website� is found by hundreds� other keyphrases, but we are waiting more. Before any website which had higher page rank than it’s competitors,� was standing� upper them, in SERPS(search engine result pages).

Seems google changed its algo again.

Still Awake

It’s 6:32 am, and I’m still awake, sleepless working on Mariam’s website,� her manager and she drive me crazy, I remake her website 4th time , mostly up to her, she change her minds over and over� to change color, or layout or anything else. A few days ago she approved new layout, at last! Now I’m working on the other pages content and graphics, will post here the website in portfolio section.

Macromedia DreamWeaver8 and CSS3

New version of DreamWeaver 8 come to help� to designers who had� difficulties to edit� style in new way(css3).� Advanced visual aids and� additional tools are pointed to� design DIV tags and classes without hand writing in css file directly.

� If you still not passed to CSS3 design yet, I advice you to go for it, give up any doubts, just try it with Dreamweaver8, after few hours ir maximum 1-2 days you would accustomes to design sites with CSS3, with DW8.

A Screen Resolution

Before I used to keep 100% width for web pages, users used different types of resolutions, on their 15 and 17 dm monitors. Nowdays 15dm monitors gone away, and just rarely used by some users who located God knows where perhaps in deep of Afrika..
and most of users on the planet, I would say about 95% use 1024×768 screen resolution on their computer screens. This allow web designers to design pages with fixed width size, per example 1000 px width, and this wount demage anything, and no scare of horizontal scrolling.

But by� my old habit� I still use 100% width desing, unless needed to design something more unique and graphic based website.

Novruz Bayram

Scientists have discovered, that to one of the most ancient holidays� Novruz is takes place from 3700 till 5000 years and this holiday in days of prophet Zaratustry has arisen. In what essence of a holiday? Celebrating of Novruz and four Tuesdays previous to a holiday, leans on beliefs about sanctity of two main beginnings – Waters and Fire, generated Air and the Earth.� In all rituals of a holiday the worship and immense gratitude to these four elements is traced. I gave this opportunity to my parents to talk with my monthers brother who live in� California more than� 6 year. Imagine, they talked about one an hour, which would cost me me about 80-90 usd if they talked by usual phone, Thanks Skype!

My uncle and his family very missing for Azerbaijan and us. Despite all USA advantages, motherland remains as motherlands, though they are tight with azeri community in Los Angeles.

I know that everyone has it is own prices for web design packages, but how do you define the prices? In my case I estimate required work upon to time I spend on it, per example if basic website take 3-6 days to develop, and ecommere website take 10-15 days, then price between basic site and e-commerce website should be different in 2 times.
However basic website(static html pages) can be more complicated like to having flash elements in it, flash into, and then it appears to be the same valume of work as other database driven websites.

But surfing on the net, I meet different people offer different prices for the same work., Poor customers they can not understand why the same work is done for different prices. Do you think expensive work is more quailty? or cheap price is poorer? In fact I saw people who do nice work for affordable price, everything depends on demands, if designer/developer has many jobs on his/her schedule, then the prices go upper. Like other industries on the market. So theory is proofed. As more popular developer is so higher his prices.

In one countries on April, 1 name Day of laughter, in others – Day of the fool. But who the first has thought up this holiday? How to play the friends, fellow workers and it is simple passers-by? How to celebrate this Day at school? What draws are most popular: mass, telephone, or computer? And also: a comic all-prize lottery, fun SMS and messages for an answering machine, focuses, gigs from a life, game, competitions, virtual cards and comic scripts by April 1! It is difficult to tell, where this holiday came from. Custom to have fun, joke and deceive each other on April, 1 exists in very many countries. About occurrence of April Fools’ tradition there are many the various hypotheses converging in one: roots of it deeply leave in medieval European carnaval culture. As a matter of fact it is one of the most proof elements of ancient period, settled in Christian consciousness. And weight one attribute origin of this holiday to Ancient Rome, where in the middle of February (and at all in the beginning of April) the holiday of “Silly” was celebrated. Under one version, the custom to joke on April 1, is connected to carry of new year. Till second half XVI century, the european new year began at the end of March.
